This bag is designed for the Montessori activity known as "mystery bag", an activity that is very attractive for children of 3-4 years. About 3-10 familiar or surprising objects are introduced in an opaque bag. The goal is to recognize them by only touching them. This way the stereognostic sense is refined. It also allows to develop concentration and increase vocabulary by naming the objects.
It can also be played with pairs of objects. That is, with two bags with the same objects inside. The adult takes out an object and puts it on the table, then the child searches in his bag for the same object only by touching and puts it equally on the table.
The stereognostic sense (tactile gnosis) is important for the children's emerging ability to name and perceive their environment, building their understanding of dimension and supporting cognitive pathways that will be used for mathematical and spatial reasoning and language development.
